1. CLIENT CONSULTATION
We always recommend that you begin with asking questions about hair traits, hair concerns, chemical history, desired results and client’s committment (Service maintenance requires committment from the client) to help you determine the best steps moving forward with your treatment service.
2. PREPARE THE HAIR
Using an Anti-Residue Clarifying Shampoo, gently shampoo the hair twice, and towel dry the hair very well. Remove the remaining moisture using a blow dryer until hair is 90% dry.
3. SECTION THE HAIR
Use a comb to divide hair, sectioning from the forehead to the nape and from ear to ear to create 4 sections. Start with the section at the back of the neck.
4. TREATMENT APPLICATION
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Start with 1-2 oz., adding more to your bowl as needed, depending on the hair length and texture. Take your first 1/4” section starting at the nape, horizontal to your parting. Starting 1/8” from the root, apply a thin layer, saturating evenly to the ends. Continue until all hair is completely saturated with product.
IMPORTANT: Wear gloves and face mask in a well ventilated area. Avoid direct contact with scalp, skin & eyes.
5. PROCESSING TIME
Allow the treatment to process 20 min. w/ plastic cap. Comb the hair every 5 minutes while processing; this important step will evenly distribute the product throughout the hair and ensure the smoothest results.
6. BLOW DRY
Using a Vent Brush blow dry the hair on medium heat 100% smooth.
7. FLAT IRON
Before using the flat iron, make sure the hair is completely dry. Use a comb to divide the hair, sectioning from the forehead to the nape and from ear to ear to create 4 sections. Adjust the flat iron temperature to 450˚F
(360˚F to 390˚F for chemically damaged and up to 410˚F for fine hair).
EXPERT TIP 1: When using the flat iron, it is recommended to make between 7-9 passes, or until the hair is silky and smooth (Do not iron ends more than 3 times to avoid split ends and avoid possible breakage).
EXPERT TIP 2: Pay close attention to the root area during ironing as it often has more texture or frizz. If the client’s hair is compromised, fine, or heavily processed, keep the iron temperature setting low. If the client has virgin, coarse, very dense, or heavily textured hair, raise the temperature gradually up to 450˚F. until you see shine.
8. FINISHING
To add moisture and smooth any fly-aways, you may add a few drops of Silk Touch System Serum for a polished finish. (Optional)
IMPORTANT: Do not wash, wet or tie the hair for at least 72 hours for best results.
